BTS' ARIRANG album shatters Billboard records and fuels record‑breaking world tour revenue
South Korean supergroup BTS has kept its fifth studio album ARIRANG on the U.S. Billboard charts for a 14‑week run, holding the No. 10 spot on the Billboard 200 and marking the first K‑pop album to spend three consecutive weeks at No. 1. The lead single “Swim” sits at No. 63 on the Hot 100, while other HYBE acts such as Le Sserafim, Illit and Katseye also entered the charts.
Global streaming data from Luminate shows ARIRANG earned 3.8 billion streams in its first eight weeks, pushing BTS’s total catalog streams past 5.3 billion. The title track “Swim” surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify, a first for any 2026 release, and every album track logged over 100 million streams. Physical sales remain strong, with 810,000 U.S. units sold, and the album topped the Billboard 200 upon release.
The accompanying ARIRANG world tour is projected to generate between $748 million and $800 million, making BTS the first Asian act to gross $700 million+ from a single tour and dwarfing the previous Asian record of $332 million set by BLACKPINK. Billboard reports the tour has already earned $127.8 million in May alone, breaking a seven‑year record previously held by the Rolling Stones. With 88 shows scheduled across 23 countries through March 2027, the tour is set to become the highest‑grossing tour by a K‑pop act.
These achievements underscore BTS’s continued dominance in global pop music, combining chart longevity, massive streaming figures and unprecedented live‑event revenue.
