Bucharest announces new urban art and contemporary heritage initiatives
Several cultural initiatives are set to enhance the artistic landscape of Bucharest. The “Un-hidden București” project aims to explore urban art and cultural heritage through guided tours, multidisciplinary artistic interventions, exhibitions, and debates. Inspired by the legacy of Constantin Brâncuși, the project seeks to humanize public spaces and foster a sense of cultural identity among residents and visitors.
Additionally, a major thematic exhibition titled “Ecouri în patrimoniul contemporan” will take place at Palatul Suțu from September 10 to November 8, 2026. This exhibition marks a significant contribution to the Pinacoteca București by Banca Comercială Română (BCR), featuring an ensemble of 70 works of painting, sculpture, and decorative art from the 20th century and contemporary Romanian art. The collection includes works by artists such as Milița Petrașcu, Gheorghe Anghel, and Teodor Vescu, highlighting a collaboration between the public and private sectors to preserve and transmit cultural heritage.
