Bucharest ASPA rescues 127 stray dogs and hosts adoption fairs

The Bucharest Authority for Animal Protection (ASPA) reported that its teams captured 127 stray dogs in the first 20 days of the month, with the highest numbers in Sector 6 (38), followed by Sectors 2, 5, 1, 4 and 3. ASPA took in 73 adult dogs and 54 puppies, noting that many are abandoned litters, and urged owners to sterilize and microchip pets, offering free services for the procedure.

ASPA is also organizing dog‑adoption events, including a fair on 24 July at ParkLake Shopping Center. The event will feature around 20 dewormed, microchipped and, when possible, sterilized dogs, along with advice on summer care and gifts for adopters. The initiative aims to find permanent homes for the rescued animals and reduce uncontrolled breeding.
