Bucharest film festivals Animest and BIEFF announced for autumn

Bucharest will host two significant film festivals this autumn. The 21st edition of the Animest International Animation Film Festival is scheduled to take place from October 2 to October 11. This year’s theme, ‘Animated by Nature,’ focuses on the connection between humanity and the environment, exploring ecosystems and conservation through animated art.

Additionally, the Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival (BIEFF) will run from September 23 to September 30. Under the theme ‘Vanishing Futures,’ the festival will feature screenings, debates, and performances at venues such as Cinema Elvire Popesco and Apollo111 Cinema. The event includes a national short film competition and an international competition featuring works from 23 different countries.
