Bucharest implements new cleaning and infrastructure projects

The Bucharest General Council has approved a new measure to clarify cleaning responsibilities for public parking spaces. Under the new regulation, sector municipalities will be responsible for cleaning “blue” street parking areas using their contracted sanitation operators. This decision aims to address accumulated waste along curbs where responsibility was previously unclear. The Municipal Parking Company of Bucharest will retain responsibility for cleaning enclosed or delimited parking facilities, such as underground or multi-story garages.

Additionally, the Bucharest City Hall has launched infrastructure improvements on Calea 13 Septembrie. These works involve repairing sidewalks and transforming the area into a “park-city” concept by replacing sidewalk parking with green spaces, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and irrigation systems. The project includes the installation of urban furniture and pedestrian access ramps. Similar landscaping and infrastructure works are also ongoing on Boulevard Tudor Vladimirescu and are planned for Șoseaua Panduri.
