Bucharest intersection of Colentina, Fundeni, Andronache and Gherghiței set for 12‑month reconfiguration
The Bucharest City Hall announced that the busy intersection of Șoseaua Colentina, Șoseaua Fundeni, Șoseaua Andronache and Strada Gherghiței will be reconfigured. The project, approved by the city council at the proposal of Mayor Ciprian Ciucu, aims to create a safer, more fluid crossing for vehicles, public transport and pedestrians, adding green spaces and eliminating bottlenecks.
The plan includes new traffic lanes, direct Fundeni‑Gherghiței passage, upgraded STB bus stations, additional traffic signals, storm‑water collection systems and landscaping. Work is expected to last twelve months, after which the area should have reduced waiting times and improved connectivity to the A3 highway and the city ring road.
