Budapest Stock Exchange BUX index rises on Mol and OTP gains
The Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) saw its BUX index rise by 0.97 percent to close at 148,969.39 points on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 14 billion forints, though analysts noted moderate investor interest.
Mol Group was a primary driver of the increase, rising 1.63 percent to 5,065 forints, supported by rising oil prices. OTP Bank also saw gains, increasing 1.51 percent to 45,680 forints. Magyar Telekom rose 0.63 percent to 2,568 forints, showing technical buying signals.
In contrast, Richter shares fell 1.02 percent to 12,580 forints, a decline attributed to a global trend in pharmaceutical stocks rather than company-specific issues. The BUMIX index for small and medium-sized stocks decreased by 0.34 percent to close at 9,366.49 points.
