Budapest to host major cheese and chocolate festivals in 2026

Budapest will host two major culinary festivals in October 2026.

The inaugural Cheese Budapest is scheduled for October 17–18, 2026, at the Rákóczi tér Market Hall. The two-day event focuses on domestic artisanal cheeses and cheese culture. The program includes an exclusive tasting evening on Saturday featuring cheese, fermented drinks, and premium wine selections. Sunday will feature a cheese fair with over twenty domestic producers, guided tastings, and demonstrations such as mozzarella making. The event will also host the 14th Cheese Sample awards.

Additionally, the Édes Napok Budapest chocolate and sweets festival is expected to take place from October 9–11, 2026. The festival will be held at Vigadó tér and the Danube Promenade. This large-scale gastronomic event, which has attracted over one hundred thousand visitors in past years, showcases chocolates, pastries, cakes, and ice cream from numerous exhibitors and confectioners.
