Budva reports tourist surge and launches major summer festivals

The Tourist Organization of Budva says about 36,000 visitors are in the town, a five‑percent rise compared with the same period last year, and occupancy across hotels, hostels, resorts and camps has improved. Over the whole of June the municipality recorded roughly 20,000 arrivals and, by early July, more than 77,000 overnight stays, an increase of 17 % year‑on‑year. Guests come mainly from the former Yugoslav region, with growing numbers from Western Europe and new source markets such as Poland, China and the Baltic states.

Budva’s cultural programme for the rest of the season includes a State‑Day celebration on 13 July, featuring a fashion show, performances by Doris Dragović and Boris Režak, and fireworks. The city will also host the Sea Dance festival from 28 August, expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors, along with ongoing events like the Grad Teatar festival, klapa concerts, and post‑season traditions such as Petrovačka night.

These developments underline Budva’s role as a Mediterranean tourism hub and its effort to extend the high‑season period into autumn.
