Buena Vista Social Club musical arrives in Fort Lauderdale

The Broadway musical inspired by the Grammy-winning Cuban album, Buena Vista Social Club, is scheduled to perform in Fort Lauderdale from October 13 through October 18. The production will take place at the Au-Rene Theater within the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Directed by Saheem Ali with a script by Marco Ramírez, the musical explores the musical heritage of Havana and the stories of the musicians behind the iconic album. The narrative specifically incorporates the career of singer Omara Portuondo. This engagement follows a recent run in Miami and serves as a significant stop on the show's U.S. tour.
