Buenos Aires advances privatization tender for public radio stations
The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has advanced the bidding process to privatize the management of two public radio stations, AM 1110 (Radio de la Ciudad) and FM 92.7 (La 2x4). Following a failed initial attempt in May, the tender was relaunched with modified terms for a five-year concession period.
Three bidders submitted proposals for each station: Green Umbrella Producciones SAS, Kligger SRL, and Rodolfo Héctor Herrera. For AM 1110, Green Umbrella offered 2.5 million pesos monthly, Kligger SRL proposed the base canon of 1.53 million pesos, and Rodolfo Héctor Herrera offered 1.6 million pesos. For FM 92.7, Green Umbrella and Herrera both submitted bids of 2.5 million pesos, while Kligger SRL offered the base amount of 1.53 million pesos.
The winning bidder will be responsible for administration, operation, maintenance, and programming development in co-production with the city government. The concession includes the signal and brand but excludes installations, equipment, and personnel. The base monthly canon was established through appraisals by Banco Ciudad.
