Buenos Aires AI app BAX hits 110,000 downloads in three weeks
The City of Buenos Aires launched BAX, a generative artificial‑intelligence application, on 2 July to streamline citizen interaction with public services. Within three weeks the app recorded more than 110 000 downloads, over 1 million total views and more than 125 000 spoken or text conversations with its AI agents.
BAX consolidates functions such as appointment scheduling, tracking of ongoing procedures, access to documents like birth certificates and a cultural agenda called Linda. Mayor Jorge Macri said the city is the first in the world to combine conversational and transactional AI at this scale, and Raúl Piola, the city’s Secretary of Innovation and Digital Transformation, highlighted the rapid adoption and the plan to expand the platform as part of Buenos Aires’ broader digital‑transformation strategy.
