Buenos Aires authorizes disposal of contaminated fentanyl ampoules

The Buenos Aires Ministry of Health has authorized provincial healthcare facilities to dispose of medical supplies and medicines produced by HLB Pharma Group S.A. and Laboratorios Ramallo S.A. This measure follows sanitary protocols implemented due to a case of contaminated fentanyl.

Under Resolution 7414/2026, the authorization includes the Hospital San Felipe in San Nicolás, though records indicate it does not hold the largest quantities of the substance. Across the province, authorities identified 2,764 records of products from the two companies, totaling over 4.46 million units. Specifically regarding fentanyl, 83,061 ampoules were identified across 13 provincial facilities. The largest stockpiles were located at Hospital San Roque de Gonnet (20,984 ampoules), Hospital Alejandro Korn (16,661), Hospital Eva Perón de San Martín (11,095), and Hospital Alberto Balestrini (10,000).
