Contaminated pharmaceutical disposal in Buenos Aires
Overview
The Buenos Aires Ministry of Health has authorized provincial healthcare facilities to dispose of medical supplies and medicines produced by HLB Pharma Group S.A. and Laboratorios Ramallo S.A. This decision follows the implementation of sanitary protocols triggered by a case of contaminated fentanyl.
Under Resolution 7414/2026, authorities identified over 4.46 million units of various products from the two companies across the province. Specifically, 83,061 ampoules of fentanyl were identified across 13 provincial facilities, with the largest stockpiles located at Hospital San Roque de Gonnet, Hospital Alejandro Korn, Hospital Eva Perón de San Martín, and Hospital Alberto Balestrini.
