Argentina's Expo Rural 2026 attracts over a million visitors in Palermo
The 138th Exposición de Ganadería, Agricultura e Industria Internacional runs from 16 to 26 July at La Rural, Palermo, Buenos Aires. Organisers expect more than one million attendees. The fair displays over 2,500 animals from more than 100 breeds, hosts more than 40 livestock auctions and will commercialise roughly 200,000 heads.
Key highlights include the official launch of ExpoBra 2026 by Santiago del Estero Governor Elías Suárez, the debut of German tractor maker Fendt with its smart‑agriculture platform, and the first birth at the show of a Limangus calf named “Lionela” in tribute to Lionel Messi. For the first time, two Balcarce jurors, Carlos Curone and Julio Fernández, presided over breed classifications.
The event also featured a women‑in‑agriculture panel led by SRA vice‑president Eloísa Frederking, and provincial showcases from Corrientes, Santa Cruz, and other regions promoting local products such as buffalo meat, guanaco cuisine and cultural performances.
