Municipalities launch free animal health and sterilization programs across Argentina, Chile and Mexico

Local governments in Argentina, Chile and Mexico are holding a series of free animal‑health events in late June 2026. In Argentina, municipalities such as Lanús, Necochea, San Miguel de Tucumán, Saladillo, Jujuy, Buenos Aires and others are offering free sterilizations, rabies vaccinations, deworming and basic veterinary checks through mobile clinics and neighborhood kiosks. The Rivadavia health‑environment day adds pet‑care services alongside environmental education. Chile’s Valdivia municipality contracted veterinary staff to exceed 8,000 procedures this year, with Mayor Carla Amtmann noting that “these initiatives are part of the continuous work we have been developing on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.” In Mexico, the Monclova mayor Carlos Villarreal highlighted that “caring for pets also represents a commitment to public health,” as his city’s Integrated Animal‑Health Brigade provided vaccinations, deworming and adoption advice. Ramos Arizpe (Coahuila) continued its permanent free‑service program, reporting hundreds of sterilizations, vaccines and dewormings for local families. Across the region, the campaigns aim to improve public health, control zoonotic disease and promote responsible pet ownership.
