Buenos Aires weather faces atmospheric block and cool temperatures
An atmospheric blocking phenomenon caused by a high-pressure center over the Atlantic Ocean is bringing unstable and cool weather to the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA). This system is driving humid air toward central Argentina, resulting in persistent cloud cover, intermittent drizzle, and light rain.
Temperatures are expected to remain below seasonal averages for spring, with some areas seeing highs between 16°C and 20°C and lows around 8°C to 13°C. While no major meteorological risks or heavy accumulations are anticipated, the weather is described as feeling more like autumn than spring.
Forecasts from the National Meteorological Service (SMN) and Meteored suggest that instability will continue through at least Friday, October 16, with intermittent precipitation. A slight improvement in conditions, including brief periods of sun, may occur mid-week, but the high-pressure system is expected to maintain gray skies and cool temperatures for much of the week.
