Buenos Aires Province authorities seize 191 tons of illegal cargo

The Buenos Aires Ministry of Transport has seized 191 tons of illegal cargo during a series of road inspections across the province. Operating in locations including La Plata, Cañuelas, Ezeiza, Ituzaingó, Hudson Toll, and Dock Sud, authorities inspected 262 transporters and issued 40 infraction notices.

Minister of Transport Martín Marinucci stated that the operations aim to protect lives and reduce accidents, noting that overloaded trucks pose significant risks to drivers and third parties by affecting braking and maneuvering capabilities, while also damaging road surfaces. The ministry utilized dynamic scales to detect overweight loads and combat tax evasion related to undeclared cargo.

In addition to freight inspections, authorities conducted checks on passenger transport. This included the inspection of 351 land vehicles, resulting in 32 infractions, and the verification of 62 vessels in the Tigre fluvial station to ensure compliance with documentation and zero-alcohol regulations.
