Buenos Aires to host 40th Plurinational Encounter in 2027

The 39th Plurinational Encounter of Women, Lesbians, Travestis, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersex, and Non-Binary people concluded in Córdoba, Argentina. During the closing ceremony, participants used a traditional democratic voting system known as the ‘aplausómetro’ to select the host city for the 40th edition in 2027, which will be Buenos Aires.

The event featured over 100 thematic workshops covering topics such as gender-based violence, labor inequality, and reproductive rights. Participants also addressed socio-economic concerns, including inflation and the impact of government austerity measures on gender equality and diversity programs. The gathering serves as an autonomous, self-funded space for collective organization and debate within the feminist and LGBTQ+ movements.
