Buenos Aires to host 5th World Alfajor Championship

The 5th World Alfajor Championship will take place in Buenos Aires from August 15 to August 17 at BA Ferial. The event features more than 120 brands and approximately 500 products competing across 19 official categories.

Participants include artisanal producers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large-scale companies, alongside international delegations from countries such as Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Canada, the United States, Spain, and New Zealand. Winners will be determined through a blind tasting process conducted by a panel of over 20 professionals, including food technologists, chocolatiers, and pastry chefs. The evaluation focuses on flavor, aroma, texture, and the balance between filling and coating.

Local participants include the bakery Malacara from Ituzaingó, which will present its products for medal consideration.
