Building fire in Schiffweiler, Germany and garden‑shed blaze in Pottschach, Austria

On the night of 3 July 2026, a residential fire broke out in a first‑floor apartment of a multi‑family house in Schiffweiler, Germany. More than 100 emergency personnel, including fire brigades from neighboring municipalities, rescue teams, police and medical services, responded. The building was evacuated, the street was closed and after about an hour the blaze was extinguished. No occupants were found inside the burning apartment and there were no reported injuries.

The following day, 4 July 2026, a garden shed in Pottschach, Austria caught fire and quickly spread to surrounding shrubs. Firefighters from several local stations, together with a rescue service and police, arrived within minutes. A breathing‑apparatus team was deployed and water supply secured, preventing further spread. The fire was brought under control without any reported casualties.
