Bulgaria weekend forecast calls for rain, thunderstorms and hot temperatures
Saturday across Bulgaria will be dominated by thick, rain‑laden cloud cover. Short‑lived showers are expected over central and eastern regions, with intense rainfall and possible hail in seven areas – Pleven, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Razgrad, Targovishte and Lovech. Thunderstorms and gusty north‑west winds are also forecast.
The southwest and western parts of the country will stay mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching 32‑33 °C in the far‑southwest and around 26 °C in Sofia. Along the Black Sea coast, clouds and rain will develop in the morning but should clear later in the day, with sea temperatures of 24‑26 °C and modest wave heights.
Overall high temperatures will range between 25 °C and 30 °C nationwide, with cooler conditions aloft (about 19 °C at 1,200 m and 13 °C at 2,000 m). Sunday is expected to be largely sunny, though isolated brief showers may still occur in some inland areas.
