Bulgaria: No allied military aircraft participating in combat operations at local airports

Bulgarian Transport Minister Georgi Peev has stated that there are currently no military aircraft from the United States or other allied nations stationed at Bulgarian civilian or military airports for participation in military operations, including conflicts involving Iran.

Peev clarified that military aircraft landing at civilian airports follow standard aviation rules and air traffic control, often performing humanitarian or rescue missions. He noted that such landings can generate revenue for the state and do not pose a security risk.

Regarding infrastructure security, the Minister emphasized the need for the state to invest in advanced anti-drone systems with broader capabilities. While current procedures for handling unauthorized drones in restricted zones are established, technological upgrades are necessary.

Additionally, Peev discussed upcoming reforms in road safety, including the creation of the 'Automobile Transport Operator' agency. This reform aims to utilize artificial intelligence and high-tech data processing to optimize road safety and efficiency.
