Bulgaria reopens repaired sections of the A2 “Traqia” highway

On 26 June the Road Infrastructure Agency announced that traffic was restored on the renovated stretches of the A2 “Traqia” motorway in the Sofia and Yambol regions. Two carriageways were reopened, improving safety and easing travel during the busy summer months. The reopening covered the segment between km 282‑287 in Yambol and the stretch between km 33‑39 in Sofia Province. Work continues on a 21‑km section in Stara Zagora, where traffic still uses the opposite carriageway.

For 29‑30 June a temporary traffic arrangement was introduced on two sections of the motorway in Sofia Province to allow resurfacing work. Vehicles were directed to use only the overtaking lane between 08:30 and 20:00, with speed limits enforced and a call for drivers to avoid risky overtaking. Real‑time traffic updates were made available via the agency’s website and hotline.
