Bulgaria schedules widespread power outages in August 2026
From 3 to 8 August 2026, electricity supply will be interrupted in several districts of Varna and nearby neighborhoods as safety and maintenance work is carried out on power‑delivery facilities. The outages are planned for streets such as Drŭzki, Ohrid, Preslav, Tsaribrod, Sofroniy Vrachanski and others, with service suspended between 09:00 and 17:00 each day.
A second set of scheduled cuts runs 5 to 7 August 2026 in other Bulgarian municipalities, including Gorna Oryahovitsa, Pavlikeni, Sukhindol and Veliko Tarnovo. These interruptions, lasting from 09:00 to roughly 16:30, are due to construction repairs and urgent maintenance on the electricity network. Specific streets and localities are listed for each area, and the outages are intended to be phased to avoid leaving all customers without power at once.
