Bulgaria sees soaring heat as temperatures reach 36 °C

A week‑long heat spell is set to affect much of Bulgaria, with Tuesday forecast to be sunny and warm, temperatures ranging from 28 °C to 33 °C. Plovdiv is expected to be the hottest city at 33 °C, while Sofia, Varna and Burgas will see 28‑29 °C. The Black Sea coast will have sea temperatures of 21‑24 °C, suitable for beach visits, and mountainous areas will remain pleasant despite possible afternoon showers.

Later in the week temperatures are projected to climb further, reaching highs of 31‑36 °C across the country. Meteorological services have issued no dangerous‑weather alerts, but health officials advise staying hydrated, wearing light clothing, using sun protection, and avoiding prolonged exposure between 11:00 and 17:00. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children are warned of heat‑related illnesses like dehydration and heat‑stroke.
