Bulgaria weather forecast: Rain and snow in mountains
Bulgaria is experiencing a transition to autumnal weather characterized by increased cloud cover, rain, and dropping temperatures. Much of the country, particularly in the South and East, is seeing rainfall, while the mountains are experiencing colder conditions where rain turns to snow at altitudes above 2,000 meters.
Temperatures are fluctuating across regions. Daytime highs generally range between 17°C and 22°C, with Sofia seeing around 17°C to 19°C. The Black Sea coast remains relatively warmer with highs between 21°C and 23°C, matching the sea temperature. Winds are expected to be moderate to occasionally strong from the northeast, particularly along the coast and in eastern regions.
Forecasts indicate continued unsettled weather through the end of the month, with potential for significant rainfall in Eastern Bulgaria and further temperature decreases toward the end of September.
