Bulgaria weather forecast: Sunny skies followed by storms and rising heat

Bulgaria is experiencing a period of variable summer weather, beginning with sunny conditions and high temperatures. According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), maximum temperatures are expected to range between 28°C and 35°C in many regions, with Sofia seeing highs around 29°C.

An atmospheric disturbance is expected to move through the country on Tuesday. This shift will bring cooler air from the northwest, leading to a temporary drop in temperatures and the development of convective clouds. This weather pattern may result in short-term rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail in some areas.

Following the midweek disturbance, conditions are forecast to stabilize with sunny weather returning. Temperatures are expected to rise again toward the end of the week and through the weekend, with some regions potentially reaching between 32°C and 38°C. The Black Sea coast will remain largely sunny with sea temperatures between 24°C and 26°C.
