Bulgaria weather forecast: Warm temperatures followed by weekend rain

Bulgaria is experiencing unseasonably warm October weather, with temperatures expected to reach nearly 30 degrees Celsius in the Danubian Plain toward the end of the work week. While mornings remain cool, with temperatures between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius and potential frost in some basins, afternoon highs will fluctuate between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius.

A significant weather shift is expected over the weekend. A low-pressure zone in the Mediterranean will bring cooler air from the northwest, leading to increased cloud cover and precipitation. Short, local summer-style rain showers with thunderstorms are forecast for the mountains in Western Bulgaria on Friday and Saturday.

By Sunday, more substantial rainfall is expected across parts of Western and Central Bulgaria, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperature to between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. The following week is projected to be cooler, with temperatures potentially dropping to 15-20 degrees during the day and snow possible in high mountain regions.
