Bulgaria Wildfire Near Sunny Beach Forces Evacuations

A wildfire broke out on the afternoon of 18 July near the Sunny Beach resort, close to the villa district of the Nesebar village of Koshарitza. Strong winds drove the fire across dry grass and shrubs toward the village, prompting the evacuation of residents from more than 15 nearby properties. Five fire engines were dispatched, and the blaze covered about 100 decares. No structures were reported damaged and no injuries were recorded, though the situation remained dynamic.

Authorities from the Burgas fire service continue to monitor the fire as it moves toward the settlement, emphasizing the difficulty of combating the blaze under the prevailing windy conditions.
