Bulgarian agricultural sector expands international reach and domestic tech focus

Bulgarian agricultural producers are expanding their international presence and domestic technological integration. At the Fruit Attraction 2026 exhibition in Madrid, the Bulgarian Association of Greenhouse Producers (BAPOP) showcased vegetables, fresh herbs, and flowers. Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the participation resulted in numerous business meetings with partners from Europe, America, Turkey, Poland, and Latvia.

Domestically, the Danube Fruit Growers Union is organizing the ‘Danube Fruit Growers 2026’ exhibition in Ruse on October 17. The event aims to connect producers, processors, and scientists with technology providers. The exhibition will feature modern agricultural solutions, including irrigation systems and specialized machinery, alongside a farmer's market offering direct sales of Bulgarian fruits, nuts, and processed goods. A technical panel will also address pest control methods for the black locust (Capnodis tenebrionis L.).
