Bulgarian businessman Ivan Lambov arrested in cocaine trafficking probe
Bulgarian businessman Ivan Lambov has been arrested at his home following a request from German authorities. He is accused of involvement in trafficking 1.4 tons of cocaine, which was seized at the port of Hamburg.
Investigations in Düsseldorf reportedly link Lambov to an international drug network led by Bosnian figure Edin Gacanin, also known as ‘Tito’. German authorities and Justice Minister Benjamin Limbach are investigating the use of fictitious fruit import forwarding companies as a front for transporting narcotics from Latin America.
During the police operation, Lambov’s wife, Tatiana Lambova, was questioned, and a luxury Porsche was confiscated. While Lambov denies the allegations, claiming he had sold his companies, he faces extradition to Germany. Authorities noted that Lambov attempted to destroy electronic evidence during the raid.
