Bulgarian citizens activate eZdrave app in record numbers

Over 14,000 citizens activated the eZdrave mobile application during a recent two-week campaign led by the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and the Ministry of Health. Between July 29 and August 12, 9,158 citizens linked their mobile devices to their electronic health records through regional health insurance funds, representing a fourfold increase compared to the period before the initiative began.

The eZdrave application provides free, secure, and rapid access to personal electronic health records. Users can track medical examinations, tests, electronic referrals, prescriptions, hospital stays, and other reported medical activities.

Beyond personal convenience, the NHIF emphasizes that the app promotes transparency within the healthcare system. It allows citizens to monitor medical activities reported in their name and report any discrepancies to the NHIF, thereby enhancing public oversight regarding the expenditure of public funds. The campaign continues nationwide, with regional health insurance fund staff assisting citizens with the activation process.
