Bulgarian F2 driver Nikola Tsolov linked to a possible 2027 Formula 1 seat

Spanish outlet SoyMotor reported that Racing Bull plans to sign Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov as a regular Formula 1 driver for the 2027 season. The claim has not been confirmed by either the team or the driver.

Tsolov’s mentor, former racer Nikolay Vărbiczaliyev, told Bulgarian National Radio that the story is "absolute speculation at the moment. Nikola has nothing signed, nothing is certain." He added that the young driver must first concentrate on his performance in the remaining Formula 2 races and accumulate the points required for a super licence, which typically demands a top‑3 finish in the championship. Decisions about a Formula 1 seat will likely be made after the season ends, depending on his results and the availability of slots in Red Bull’s junior program.
