Bulgarian motorways face traffic restrictions for repairs

The Road Infrastructure Agency (API) has announced various traffic restrictions and temporary changes to road organization across several major Bulgarian motorways due to maintenance and equipment upgrades.

On the Hemus and Trakia motorways in the Sofia region, works include the replacement of toll cameras and their supports, as well as roadside vegetation removal. These activities are expected to continue through August 20, with intermittent lane restrictions in place.

On the Struma motorway, particularly in the Blagoevgrad region, maintenance involves replacing toll cameras and conducting repairs at various kilometer markers, including areas near Pokrovnik, Dolna Gradeshnitsa, Sandanski, Damyanitsa, and Marikostinovo. Additionally, specific junction restrictions are in effect near Petrich and the General Todorovo – Novo Konomladi junction, requiring drivers to use detour routes.

Other regional works include pavement repairs on road I-1 near Dupnitsa and marking applications on the Sofia–Blagoevegrad route. Drivers are urged to follow all road signage and exercise caution during these periods.
