Bulgarian police conduct major operations against counterfeit goods and drugs

Police in Bulgaria have conducted large-scale operations across several regions to combat economic crime, drug trafficking, and violations of political rights during election periods.

In Razgrad, authorities seized approximately 1,500 counterfeit items bearing unauthorized logos from luxury brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Ray-Ban. The operation also led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man for cannabis possession and the confiscation of illegally harvested wood in the villages of Kitanchevo and Podayva.

In the Blagoevgrad region, a specialized operation involving the Ministry of Interior and the Gendarmerie resulted in the detention of 15 individuals for various crimes. While officers issued approximately 50 warning protocols related to the protection of citizens' political rights to prevent election fraud, officials reported no current evidence of vote-buying. The operation also focused on drug enforcement and roadside checks of vehicles and individuals.
