Bulgarian sports commissions issue sanctions in volleyball and football
Disciplinary commissions in Bulgarian volleyball and football have issued various sanctions following recent matches.
The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation penalized Valentin Bratoev and Georgi Bratoev following a dispute during a beach volleyball championship match in Burgas. The commission cited unsportsmanlike behavior and an attempted physical altercation. Valentin Bratoev received a two-match suspension and a 1,000 euro fine, while Georgi Bratoev was issued a two-match suspension and a 1,500 euro fine.
In football, the Bulgarian Football Union announced penalties for several clubs and players. CSKA Sofia midfielder Catalin Itu received a one-match suspension and a 160 euro fine following a red card. Additionally, several clubs, including Ludogorets, CSKA Sofia, Botev Vratsa, and Lokomotiv Plovdiv, were fined for issues such as the unauthorized use of flares and offensive chanting.
