Bulgarian sports disciplinary sanctions

Overview

Bulgarian sports disciplinary commissions have issued various sanctions across volleyball and football.

In August, the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation penalized Valentin and Georgi Bratoev with suspensions and fines following a dispute during a beach volleyball championship in Burgas. Simultaneously, the Bulgarian Football Union issued penalties in football, including a suspension for CSKA Sofia midfielder Catalin Itu and fines for clubs such as Ludogorets, CSKA Sofia, Botev Vratsa, and Lokomotiv Plovdiv due to offensive chanting and the unauthorized use of flares.

By September, the Bulgarian Football Union continued issuing sanctions following the eighth round of the efbet Liga. Former CSKA 1948 head coach Aleksandar Aleksandrov received a two-match ban and multiple fines. Other penalties included fines for Levski Sofia, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, and Spartak Varna for offensive chanting and flare use, alongside a one-match suspension for Dunav Ruse player Kyriakos Antoniou and financial penalties for the Dunav Ruse club.
