Bulgaria's New Cabinet Sees Falling Trust, Premier Radев Rating Slips

A recent bTV‑Market Links poll finds public confidence in Prime Minister Rumen Radев declining by 9 percentage points, with overall trust in the new cabinet dropping six points to 45 percent and distrust rising to 55 percent after just over a month in office. The same survey notes a slight rise in parliamentary trust from 19 percent to 22 percent, while distrust remains high.

Another Market Links poll conducted in May shows the government starting with a “flying” 50 percent trust and 24 percent distrust, and Radев enjoying 56 percent trust versus 22 percent distrust. DPS leader Delian Peevski recorded a record‑low 8 percent trust and 88 percent distrust. Sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov commented that “the central figure of Mr Radев moves the political capital of this new administration,” but warned that “if expectations are not met, a serious implosion could follow.”
