Bullfighting events scheduled for Spain and Mexico in October

Bullfighting events are scheduled for late October in Spain and Mexico. In Arenas de San Pedro, Spain, Tomás Rufo will perform his final engagement of the 2026 season on October 17. Rufo, who previously succeeded in the same venue by cutting four ears, will share the ring with Sebastián Castella and local matador Julio Méndez.

In Mérida, Mexico, the 2026-2027 bullfighting season is set to open on October 25 at the Plaza de Toros Mérida. The inaugural event features Sebastián Castella alongside Mexican matadors André Lagravere ‘El Galo’ and Diego San Román. The bulls for this event are from the Boquilla del Carmen ranch in Zacatecas.
