BULOG hits record rice procurement of 4.11 million tons

Perum BULOG has achieved a historic milestone in national food security, recording its highest rice procurement in the company's history. As of October 8, 2026, the state logistics agency has procured 4,115,014 tons of rice equivalent, representing 102.88 percent of the government's 4 million ton target.

This achievement surpasses the previous record set in 2012 (3.65 million tons) and the 2025 realization (3.19 million tons). BULOG Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani attributed this success to the synergy between the agency, farmers, and various stakeholders, noting that the massive absorption helps stabilize grain prices at the producer level.

In response to rising premium rice prices, BULOG is also accelerating the processing of commercial rice into premium varieties, targeting 300,000 tons by December 2026. Additionally, the agency is supporting the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (KDMP) initiative by providing flexible payment terms and unrestricted access to rice supplies to ensure affordable food access for the public.
