BULOG strengthens food supply through rice partnerships and corn distribution
Perum BULOG is implementing several strategic initiatives to stabilize Indonesia's food supply and manage national reserves. The agency has partnered with PT Padi Indonesia Maju, a member of the Wilmar Group, to produce and distribute premium rice through modern retail networks, aiming to meet growing consumer demand for high-quality products.
Regarding corn distribution, BULOG has achieved 66.05 percent of its 2026 target for the Stabilisasi Pasokan dan Harga Pangan (SPHP) program, with 159.3 thousand tons distributed to date. The government plans to distribute an additional 150,000 tons of SPHP corn by the end of the year to support livestock farmers.
As of mid-September 2026, BULOG's government rice reserves have decreased to 4.722 million tons from a previous 5.4 million tons. This reduction is attributed to the massive distribution of food aid to 33.2 million beneficiary families and the SPHP program, which has distributed approximately 800,000 tons of rice to maintain market price stability.
Additionally, the Ministry of Trade is supporting local manufacturers, such as Bandung-based Fortuna Shoes, to expand their export reach through business matching and international trade facilitation.
