BULOG Serui distributes 684 tons of rice assistance in Papua

Perum BULOG Serui has begun distributing 684.93 tons of rice food assistance for the July-September 2026 period to recipients in the Yapen Islands and Waropen regencies. The program is a government initiative managed by the National Food Agency (Bapanas) using Government Rice Reserves (CBP).

A total of 22,831 recipients are set to benefit from the distribution. In Waropen, 7,120 recipients will receive 213,600 kilograms of rice, while 15,711 recipients in the Yapen Islands will receive 471,330 kilograms. Each recipient is allocated 10 kilograms of rice per month, totaling 30 kilograms for the three-month period.

To ensure quality and quantity, the distribution process involves inspections conducted alongside the Department of Agriculture and Food Security. Due to the archipelago geography, distribution is managed collectively through transporters to reach various districts and villages.
