Bulog accelerates corn distribution to Java to support micro-farmers
Perum Bulog is accelerating the distribution of corn to support micro-livestock farmers in Java. Following requests from farmers to the DPR, Bulog Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani inspected the loading of 10,000 tons of corn under the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program at Soekarno-Hatta Port in Makassar. This shipment is being sent via sea to Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya to supply farmers in East, Central, and West Java, as well as the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
In a broader effort to strengthen national food security, Bulog reported that its domestic grain and rice procurement reached 4,115,014 tons by October 2026, exceeding its 4-million-ton target. This procurement aims to stabilize supply and support government rice reserves.
Additionally, the Indonesian government is implementing agricultural policies to boost farmer purchasing power. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman noted that measures such as reducing subsidized fertilizer prices and halting cassava imports have significantly improved commodity prices and farmer welfare in regions like Lampung.
