Burgas children undergo preventive medical screenings
Approximately 300 children in Burgas participated in preventive medical examinations on October 17 as part of the ‘Child Health’ program. This initiative is a joint effort between the ‘N. I. Pirgov’ University Multiprofile Hospital for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine and the Sofia Medical College of the Bulgarian Medical Union.
The campaign, which marks the team's fourth visit to Burgas, featured an expanded medical staff including specialists from the ‘St. Anastasia’ Multiprofile Hospital for Intensive Care of Children. Twelve doctors provided consultations across various specialties.
Medical professionals reported observing numerous cases of scoliosis, cryptorchidism, hematuria, kidney cysts, enuresis, atrial defects, rhythm disturbances, hypertension, and adenoid hypertrophy. Additionally, specialists noted significant instances of myopia linked to disproportionate screen device usage.
