Burgas police seize 12 million euro drug shipment
Bulgarian authorities have seized a massive shipment of narcotics at the entrance to Burgas. During an operation by the General Directorate Border Police, officers intercepted a truck containing approximately 100 kilograms of cocaine and 200 kilograms of marijuana.
The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at approximately 12 million euros. Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev described the seizure as a “huge blow against drug trafficking,” noting that the operation targeted large-scale distribution channels rather than individual doses.
District Prosecutor Georgi Chinev also commented on the success, stating that such actions are vital for restoring public trust in law enforcement. The seizure follows a series of recent anti-drug operations in the Burgas region.
