Burkina Faso Prime Minister Leads Tree‑Planting Drive on National Tree Day

On the eighth edition of Burkina Faso’s National Tree Day, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo planted a tree at a ceremony themed “My concession, my tree,” echoing President Ibrahim Traoré’s call for every citizen to plant and tend at least one tree to improve the environment and resilience.

The commune of Bané announced a complementary reforestation effort, aiming to plant 20 000 trees across public sites, road verges and community areas. Local officials stressed monitoring, protection measures and penalties for neglect, linking the campaign to broader goals of combating desertification and climate‑related challenges.
