TEXFORCES-BF textile complex inaugurated in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso President Ibrahim Traoré inaugurated the TEXFORCES-BF industrial textile complex in Logofourousso, near Bobo-Dioulasso, on September 9, 2026. The facility represents a 17 billion CFA franc investment funded by national public resources, including social security funds and state-owned enterprises.
The complex aims to enhance economic sovereignty by processing local cotton into finished goods rather than exporting raw fiber. It is designed to supply uniforms and clothing for the national defense and security forces, paramilitary groups, and the civilian population. The facility includes spinning, weaving, and garment manufacturing units.
Initial production capacities include processing over 12 tons of cotton fiber per day, with long-term goals to transform 50,000 tons of cotton annually. The project is expected to create 600 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect jobs in its current phase, with future projections suggesting up to 20,000 direct jobs as the ecosystem expands.
