On September 9, 2026, President Ibrahim Traoré inaugurated the TEXFORCES-BF industrial textile complex in Logofourousso, near Bobo-Dioulasso. Funded by 17 billion CFA francs from national public resources, the facility is intended to bolster economic sovereignty by processing local cotton into finished goods rather than exporting raw fiber.

The complex includes integrated units for spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing, and dyeing. It is designed to supply uniforms and clothing for the national defense and security forces, paramilitary groups, and the civilian population.

At full capacity, the site aims to transform up to 50,000 tonnes of cotton annually, producing 100 million meters of fabric and over 20 million finished items. The project is expected to create significant employment, with projections suggesting up to 20,000 direct jobs and 60,000 indirect jobs, providing opportunities for approximately 80,000 young Burkinabè.
