Burkina Faso police academy graduates 180 new officers and commissioners

On 17 July 2026, the government of Burkina Faso held a ceremony in Pabré to mark the graduation of the 10th promotion of the National Police Academy. After two years of intensive training, 180 senior police cadres – 62 commissioners and 118 officers – were declared ready to serve, including 80 trainees from Chad.

Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo presided over the event. Minister of Security Mahamadou Sana praised the academy’s professionalism, the high academic averages (16.66/20 for commissioners and 16.41/20 for officers) and the strengthening of security cooperation with Sahel states and Chad. The promotion, named “Diir‑na‑Nou” (patriotism), was sponsored by retired police controller Paul Sondo, and graduates were urged to act with discipline, loyalty and integrity.
